the AIA Michigan Honor Award winning Lamar Corporate Headquarters was the subject of the January 2008 cover story in the American Institute of Steel Construction’s monthly journal, Modern Steel Construction. sdi worked closely with the owner and architect from day one of the design to integrate structure and architecture in this bold 125 foot cantilevered office space. sdi teamed with researcher Mehdi Setareh PE, PhD, of Virginia Tech, to create predictive models of the structures vibration characteristics and to perform in-place testing during and after construction, all to ensure a workspace of striking beauty and stability.
